Mushroom Pate (Raw)


1 lb / 450 g mushrooms, sliced
1 cup pignoli (pine) nuts
1 small onion, chopped
1 garlic clove
2 T tahini
1/2 t thyme
1/4 cup fresh parsley
1/4 t nutmeg
Braggs to taste


Process all with S blade. Mushrooms must be fresh. Form into loaf and chill.

Yeah, Viki is sprouting too! These are a picture of ancient eastern blend (fenugreek, french lentils, kamut and adzuki beans)



I’m sprouting!

Ok, I’m not personally sprouting… so no worries, but I am growing sprouts. Janis and I took a sprouting class this past Tuesday at the uber cool Toronto Sprouts. you have to check it out!!! So I today I got all the stuff I need (mesh, jars, tub to drain them in) and now I’m ready. A few weeks ago we bought some seeds at TS.

I couldn’t start right away after purchasing the seeds because:

a) I wasn’t sure how and was waiting for the class

b) didn’t have everything I needed

c) was fasting

So now I’m ready.

Here are also some basic instructions for sprouting in a jar. I need to get a proper container and the soil to grow my sunflower sprouts. Will get that next week.

Step 1:

Soak the seeds/beans (what I have here are (left to right) chick peas, quinoa and a spicy lentil mix)

step 2:

drain them and then set them on a 45 degree angle, near indirect sunlight for the half the day, in darkness the other half
